Booster Committee Job Descriptions
Booster Raffles - Join the committee to help find prizes for the monthly meeting raffles.
Chaperones/Risers - This committee organizes chaperones and riser breakdown for concerts and student events. Please consider becoming a chaperone or riser volunteer for one or any event this year.
Dessert on Broadway - Dessert on Broadway or “DOB” is the Choral Department’s annual musical review performed in a cabaret setting. Every year we are fortunate to have a huge cast of parent and alumni parent volunteers who spend many hours transforming the Woodson cafeteria into an elegant cabaret, complete with a New York skyline; setting and clearing tables for each performance; baking and preparing desserts and drinks; costuming and making up the performers in lavish style; selling tickets; checking coats; and chaperoning and feeding the performers backstage. PLEASE JOIN US --- In return for your hard work, we promise you tremendous rewards, considerable bonding, and much fun.
Hospitality - The Hospitality Committee provides refreshments for the Booster Meetings, Back-to-School Chorus Picnic, Tag Day, End of the Year Celebration, and any special events that Woodson hosts, such as District Chorus or Festival. All Booster members are asked to help with food, beverages, and serving at these events.
Great Lakes Scrip - Learn how to make money without buying anything extra.
Program Design and Production
PTSO Board Representative - If you have any news to be shared with the PTSO, let us know. This committee tries to make sure that avoidable conflicts are not scheduled so the students don't have to miss out on events.
Sprit Wear – The Spirit Wear Committee researches, coordinates and helps to fulfill spirit-related wear and gear for the Chorus Boosters.
TAG Day- Join the committee and help organize the largest single fundraiser we hold each year.
Uniforms - The uniform committee works all year, from Uniform Day until the final spring concert, when the uniforms are turned in. We are always looking for parent volunteers to help out at picture day, before performances and on trips. If you are interested in volunteering to help out with uniforms, please contact me. No experience is necessary and getting to know both the students and parents is great. I've known most of the students since they were freshmen and they are truly dedicated, respectful, hardworking and, most of all, fun to be around!
